A short course on microscopy (applied to building materials) will be organized on the afternoon of Sunday the 15th, just before the welcome reception.
The program is as follows :
– Peter Laugesen, Pelcon Materials & Testing, Ballerup, Denmark : “Optical microscopy of concrete – sample preparation, standard and fluorescence microscopy”
– Vincent Thiéry, IMT Nord-Europe, Center for Materials & Processes, Douai, France: “Scanning electron microscopy of cementitious materials: insights of the basic principles, sample preparation and applications”
– Emmanuelle Boehm-Courjault, EPFL, Construction Materials Laboratory, Lausanne, Switzerland : “Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) applied to cementitious materials”
– Andreas Leemann, EMPA, Concrete technology, Dübendorf, Switzerland : “Alkali silica reaction in concrete: characterization of products by Raman microscopy”.
– Myriam Bouichou, Historical Monuments Research Laboratory, Concrete lab, Champs-sur-Marne, France : “Application of microscopy techniques to concrete cultural heritage”.
